Wow that is so similar to the previous set. Just bigger with the Newsport view. Its ok. Shoulda did something new.

It is somewhat similar to the set of the Miami station WLTV, which moved into the Newsport earlier this year.

Apparently they relocated and refreshed the previous set to a larger space that features a window looking into the NewsPort. (Love that Miami newsroom naming thing....Newsplex...NewsPort. LOL

Here is a montage of the new studio and graphics for Noticiero Univision from July 20, 2015

and the close and pan of Newsport

plus the behind-the-scenes look at the set, as reported by the Miami station, WLTV Univision 23, whose set is right next to theirs

Personally, they should have changed the blue to either gray or red, since the blue just feels out of place with the new graphics.

I really couldn't work out why TV2 felt the need to have massive letterboxing of their debate coverage - like they were aiming for some strange movie-style framing.

Incidentally, that first debate (filmed in TV2's breakfast studio at Copenhagen central station - from about 1:20 in the clip) opened with the candidates charging through cheering crowds of supporters. I can't say I've seen that done in other countries' elections!

I'm a massive fan of the Danish approach to elections on TV. The graphics tend to be incredibly dynamic and clean, and the general tone and approach is much more 'street-level' with presenters among the crowds and in the heart of the parliament. The UK could actually learn a lot from it. It's surprising that we still have the very old fashioned approach with a large, expensive studio set and a rotating round of 'experts' and previous MPs.
