Speaking of UK themes abroad, Kanal A in Slovenia is still using the old ITN / ITV News theme -- complete with the bongs:

My word, that headline sequence seemed to go on forever! I think the BBC would have been proud of that one. Anyway, returning to New Zealand, and here's that regional station which for many years used the 2004 ITV regional look and music:



And whilst the music is no longer used, the design is still pretty much the same:

Surely they can't do this - is it not owned by ITV?

And here's the Channel 4 News theme as heard in -- Arizona (1986):

I seem to remember reading elsewhere on this forum that the branding was licensed from ITV, so I guess they're in the clear.

Correct, the music is from KPM Music and is licensed

There’s a fictional example seen in the Stephen Colbert animated series “Our Cartoon President”, where the 1995 ITN theme is heard as “Wolf Blitzer”s intro.

It's the same with the STV News music. That was used by a foreign broadcaster a few years ago. The broadcaster that used escapes me now...

The music, yes, but the graphics were only loosely based on the ITV News look:
