too good to be virtual. Instead of being a green screen, that's a massive LED screen.
And just to go one step further, Vimeo has a video portfolio for the new CNBC look. Hints at Europe also adopting the graphics (Worldwide Exchange is included in the sequence).
CNN is pretty much all sitting presentation these days. It was also quite late to catch up on the stand up presentation craze. I always think of Sky News as the channel that really brought it to the mainstream, with their 2005 relunch.
C5 obviously made it mainstream here with C4 adopting it in 1999 and ITV and the BBC doing bits and pieces in the years that followed. Sky never really did much until 2005 and dropped it on many slots quite quickly really.
Sky News Today was the exception on sky news pre 2005, and it was used to great effect by Martin Stamford & Julie Etchingham to make a quick paced informative programme.
TVP 1 updated Wiadomosci on the 1st of January, and a lot of the comments are that it's blatant plagiarism of the 2008 incarnation News at Ten. To an extent I can see where they are coming from, and imo it is actually a decent opening and the music is actually not to bad either...
