It's similar to the BBC's (RE: DR1) Far better though!

Even any point putting it in the requests section?! Laughing

I wonder if DR's new music was composed by David Lowe or just *ahem* "inspired" by his style.
His site lists TV2 in Norway among his clients, but not DR.

According to the end credits, Musik is done by Steffen Breum.

there's a revised version of the TV-Avisen titles, now with a "Copenhagen" tag (at 8 seconds) on the globe instead of "New York":

Here's TV Sarajevo's news intro from the 1980s, when Bosnia-Herzegovina was still one of the six republics making up Yugoslavia:

And the (in)famous TV Belgrade news intro -- excellent in terms of design but closely associated with Miloševiæ's propaganda machine:

BTW, in case you missed it, Serbian TV revived this opening sequence a few months ago. The move was controversial precisely because the original design was associated with the Miloševiæ regime. Here is what the remake looks like:

That's remarkably similar, even the melody. I do however like the unlit studio pre title, I miss that about news over here.

And the pre-news clock and zylophone music has to be scaring the next generation of Serbs..

I guess something like this was going to happen. The old version (if you ignore the elements of the brutal regime it played out in for a moment) must have been so iconic (in the same way the ITN News At Ten Big Ben clockface is to UK viewers) that when looking for insperation of a refresh of the news opener and graphics, the gdesigners of today think back to what they watched growing up, remember the programme openings and try and do it better, using the box of tricks they have in the graphics suites.

I agree 100%, Hatton Cross.

Of course, DR's previous look was also heavily BBC-inspired:

DR's TV Avisen got its latest look on September 15 this year. ( http://www.dr.dk/DR1/TVAVISEN/2010/0915132253.htm ) Here's the highlights of it.

Interesting. Very BBC News-soundalike music. Very tight close-ups on the main presenters, and interesting that they do a mix of in-the-screen down-the-lines and boxes.

Wonder what the wall technology is - very nice blurry floor reflections (and simulated projection desaturation) if it's a CSO VR job, and if it's LED they've done a good job of getting it diffuse enough not to go dotty. No obvious joins... Has a look of projection (some kind of seamless blending)

The opening is very slick and tight - though not sure that the opening shot of a news bulletin being a dark studio is a great way of keeping an audience. Think the BBC's style of starting on the presenter in MCU is still a good template (far less impetus to change channel)

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the murder of John Lennon. Here is how WBBM in Chicago covered the story back then:

And here's how the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite covered it:

Why the TV news headlines in Spain are so long? Every bulletin has a 4-minute headlines. Why they do this, and who started it?
