Israel's Channel 10 News has relaunched last month, with brand-new set and graphics, and a new version of their theme:

Interesting, viakenny!
Channel 10's new set (top) looks similar to the set used by POP TV in Slovenia (bottom):

This compilation covers various local and a few national US news intros and promos since roughly 1980 -- but it also includes an old German intro:

Here's another fantastic, extra-long compilation from YouTube user NewsActive3. I'll just quote his description:
"Circa 1972-1996. Includes clips from local broadcast, network, and cable operations from the U.S., Greece, Bosnia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, and Colombia"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWUuZDjX4IU
It also includes a few news promos starring Leslie Nielsen, who passed away just recently.

I watch a lot of TVE and love their news, presenters, sets and music, it's all done very well. Last week I noticed that TVE news channel used a different set, without the control room as a background. Anyone know why?
Also I notice on TVE that their presenters work 5 days a week and are almost never ever off, you know exactly which face you'll see on each edition of TD and also on the news channel slots.

Something a little different, but well worth a watch:

VTM News in Belgium is getting a new look on Monday. It has a lot to compete with presentation wise, as their rival channel is VRT, who have the very sophisticated colour coded bulletins.
VTM News' current look has only been in use since 2008, and everything about it is very modern, even now:

However a new set and graphics package, including new music, will all launch on Monday. Here's the new logo:
http://www.nieuwsblad.be/Assets/Images_Upload/2011/01/03/nieuws.jpg.h170.jpg.280.jpg
I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Both the current and new branding seem to have a modern edge which you wouldnt really class as suitable for a news programme, it doesnt really come across as authoritive.
I also find it interesting that they call their news programme 'The News' instead of VTM News. Similarly VRT News name their bulletins 'The Journal'.
