Indeed it has. Not seen any titles etc but you can see some shots of the studio in this clip

The new look did launch on Monday. It's been well received mostly. I do like the music despite it being a less authoritive tune. The studio is okay, but I'm not sure whether its any better than the previous one.

Heres the 1pm Bulletin:

Thanks! I like the new look, even though I'm also puzzled as to why they introduced it so soon after the previous one, which had a substantially similar look and feel -- and was just as modern.

I liked that look as well, but then again, I'm always a sucker for creative camera pans in news intros.

As we've seen, France's Antenne 2 were masters of creative camerawork back in the 1970s:

According to a member of the TVMatrix.de forum, citing official correspondence, the German news channel n-tv will get a new look on February 1.

BTW, this is n-tv's current look:

I was looking through some "related videos" above and a clip from the Dutch RTL caught my attention. It's a news segment about what would happen to Flanders if Belgium were to break apart (Would it join the Netherlands?) But what impressed me was the newscast's presentation -- it manages to present a potentially dry topic in a dynamic, clear and informative way:

This brand-new compilation includes various Canadian and American news intros, both old and new, national and local -- including a few recorded during the Falklands War and the London embassy siege:

And this compilation features the news intros used by Italy's Canale 5 from 1992 until today:

Sky TG24, Italy, morning news [master, not an off-air recording], 2010:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MImx-WqRnUs

Looking at the video frame-by-frame, it is an edit of an off-air recording, not master. Look at the Headline transition slowly and closely. Also, the music in the video sounds like edited.

In terms of graphics, only Sky TG24 is the best, for now.

By the way, is Edizione Straordinaria a kind of Breaking News?

Sort of. I asked an Italian working in the office, and it roughly translates in to English as Extraorndinary Edition - so, as a report out of the ordinary (or unexpected), which, I suppose Breaking News would be...

..but he was in a rush to leave - so an Italian speaker with more time may be able to confirm or deny as necessary.. Smile

You're absolutely right! That's a good catch. It also explains why there is a Sky TG24 bug in the upper right-hand corner.

I don't speak Italian, but based on its literal meaning ("extraordinary edition") and what I've seen of Italian TV, I'm almost sure it's the Italian term for a Special Report.
