Spain's Antena 3 unveiled a new set earlier this month. Here's a promo that shows it from various perspectives:

Sky News on the cheap!

Antena looks better than Sky to me, colours are nicer and especially desk.

Here's this set in action (i.e. as it appears on the news):

With Chicago effectively shut down by a blizzard today, here's a look back at two historic snowstorms that affected the Windy City -- complete with news presentation from those eras.

The Blizzard of 1967, as seen on local station WMAQ (NBC):

The Danish public broadcaster DR launched a new look for their news programme, TV Avisen, last September.

One wonders how they came up with that "beep" music...

I see the promo features the new Antena 3 logo, with desk also looking like the bottom of the new logo, but it's still not being used when the set was launched, so any ideas when the new logo will debut?

Hmm, interesting. Sometimes companies have last minute doubts when it comes to replacing or even updating a well-known logo.

Just as the world's attention is focused on Cairo's Tahrir Square today, the whole world was watching Beijing's Tiananmen Square in 1989. Here's Slovenian TV news from May 1989 with coverage of those protests (Slovenia was still a part of Yugoslavia in 1989, but it had its own TV news since 1968):

Why all the hexagons?

Well, this was FR3's logo at the time:

The French frequently refer to their country as l'Hexagone because of its shape on a map.

In regards of protests in Egypt, you may have seen some footage from Egyptian news bulletin at least once. Well, that look was designed by Luxlotusliner, a German agency who also designed Arte Info and everyone's amazed Polsat News.

Found how aston works, but couldn't find opening headlines.

And, a shocking fact:
Some of you may have seen my post in the 'Vintage/Current News Presentation' thread. In it, I mentioned that VTM News in Belgium is launching its new look on Monday. Today, newspapers over there are printing images of the new studio - and it reminds me a little of ITV News, but with a better design ... obviously Very Happy

If only ITV could do something like this...

The new look did launch on Monday. It's been well received mostly. I do like the music despite it being a less authoritive tune. The studio is okay, but I'm not sure whether its any better than the previous one.

Heres the 1pm Bulletin:

It was BDA who designed ITV News' current look and Het Nieuws' new look.
