Clearly standards no longer exist for announcements on BBC One in England. Tonight's BBC News at Ten was introduced as Monday night's news.

Looking at your region we heard the same CA, which would have been East specific, no? Did sound a little strange but equally I thought it nice to have a break from 'This is BBC One in the East, now the BBC News with X and X at 10 O'Clock' as is the template for these announcements.

Same announcement on BBC One London, so network wide.

Oooh, equally thought it sounded bit more of a CA-type voice rather than anyone in the newsroom with a moment free! Interesting that the announcement was networked, still a local ident however - the local anno is fairly pointless so maybe it's just been dropped?

Its the news, its Monday night.

There was a network announcement because the bulletin was hosted by Clive and Sophie. This situation occurs on every occasion where there are two presenters.

Is that how they're going to announce it now? Confused

It's certainly a lowering of standards. Normally the networked intro for bulletins presented on location and in the studio are professional. I'd actually suggest most regions do a better job than that.

Maybe network continuity should be outsourced to a BBC Nation.

It's only just been insourced to the BBC itself

No, the continuity announcers are now BBC staff, as are the channel editors.

Ericsson's contract to provide media management and playout was extended by 7 years back in 2015.

Yes, albeit with some changes to the new contract.

There's a few things Red Bee/Ericsson did they won't any more and certain roles and operations were moved back into the BBC. Making promos is the well known change, that is now being done by BBC Creative and other companies rather than being something Ericsson did
