Here's a typically cheesy 1980s American news promo for a small-market station:

And here is spot-on parody of such promos from Family Guy -- down to the reporter passing a pet to someone (in this case, an old woman rather than a little girl):

As some of you may know, Israel's Channel 10 was forced to move its newscasts from their headquarters in Givatayim, just outside Tel Aviv, to Jerusalem (because of a law that rules that all commercial broadcasters that receive government funding broadcast their news from Jerusalem).
So, last September, they moved from their CSO set to a temporary (well, sort of) set, while a bigger set is being built at the roof of their building in Jerusalem.

But has there been any news of a net set at Channel 10? or are they simply bringing the Givtayim set over to Jerusalem?

I actually really like their temporary set. It's very clean and European.

They've been on that 'temporary' set for ages, I remember us discussing it months and months ago. IIRC the network is doing very poorly, so I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being their permanent digs for some time.

TVB, one of the two free-to-air TV broadcasters in Hong Kong, updated their news graphics and set on June 1st. TVB operates five digital free-to-air channels, four broadcast in Cantonese (including a 24 hour news channel) and one in English.

News at 7:30 broadcasts on TVB Pearl (their English channel) everyday:

And this is News at 6:30, which broadcasts on TVB Jade (their flagship Cantonese channel) everyday:

On June 15th, they changed the color scheme of the graphics from dark blue/red to light blue/orange, this is the updated look on News at 7:30:

Here's the old graphics and set, which launched in early 2009:

The beeps at the start of the theme is the morse code signal for "NEWS TODAY", which they used since the 70s.

I knew they had moved a while ago to Jerusalem but I was under the impression they had - until recently - been using a chroma keyed set which was an imitation of the old Tel Aviv set. (complete with wide shot pre-recorded in Tel Aviv earlier in the day!)

Your comments on the financial situation are correct. The channel is basically the victim of big-business and big-politics in-fighting. Major shareholders have been attempting to wrestle control from each other with near-death consequences for the whole company. The move to Jerusalem hasn't helped either with some big news stars walking. (Very strange given that the country isn't actually that big. It's the equivalent distance of London to Chelmsford (less than an hour) ) The move has taken place because being based in Jerusalem entitles the channel to huge government subsidies. That gives you an idea of the scale of their problems. It's pretty much a state-funded TV operation now.

Unspeakably awful.

They've been in that custom temporary set for the better part of a year now.

That concept wasn't confined to the states

I'm pretty sure the chroma key setup was the temporary set and the current setup is the new set. Plus Channel 10 still uses the other studio for special coverage or for roundtable discussion.
