Norway's TV2 will be debuting a revamped bulletin this Monday, with a Lightwell-designed backdrop. The fate of their Lambie Nairn graphics is not known.

Edit - Here's the finished set, designed by BDA Creative.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing how that will turn out.

BTW, this is TV2's current look (I think):

Here's a truly historic bit of television... the first hour of CNN, the world's first 24-hour news channel, from June 1, 1980.

The launch ceremony begins at around the 2:15 mark.

The first news broadcast begins around the 7:45 mark.

And here's a tour of CNN's facilities from the network's second hour on the air:

A very stylish new look for Le JT de D8...

Love the lighting effects in the opener and closer, French broadcasters certainly have a thing for theatrics.

Actually, that's from their 24-hour news channel, TV2 Nyhetskanalen, which comes from the same set as the news bulletins on the main TV2 channel.

This is how the bulletins on TV2 look like, courtesy of TVArk:

@Viakenny: Thanks for the clarification! I can't get those TV Ark links to work (TV Ark, while a great website, has a bug / design flaw that seems to prevent clips from being shared directly), but they can be viewed here:

Here's an interesting compilation of the various graphics used by a 24-hour-news channel from Tampa, Florida, in the late 1990s, designed by jcbD:

ABC World News with Diane Sawyer has officially embraced the tabloid approach to news, with garish new graphics and presentation style:

The new Hanz Zimmer composed theme is quite nice though. Video can be seen here: http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/a-new-look-for-abc-world-news_b148185

News of the City (City Channel, Yaroslavl, Russia) now clearly copies ITV News:

Late edition (01.10.2012):

Clock: - with the ticking sound overlaid on original theme for no reason...

For comparison, an edition with the previous package:

As I wrote before, some broadcasters from this city like to copy some news packages. However, this channel, as far as I know, never copied anyone before.

And it sounds like they got the bed from someone's remix that was on YouTube, in illegal and not legitimate way. Looks like it's time to call The Kay Library!

Minor changes in the opening sequences and lower-thirds on the news bulletins on Portugal's RTP1 and RTP Informação:
The logos for the RTP1 bulletins were white, now they're red. On RTP Informação, they went from red to yellow.
On the lower-thirds, the headline bit also changed, from blue to red on RTP1, from red to yellow on RTP Informação. The "flipper" became a ticker and the clock alternated between the newscast title and the actual clock for about a week. Now, both the clock and the bulletin title appear together again on RTP1, and the clock alone appears on RTP Informação in some bulletins (in others, it still alternates between time and bulletin title).

Manhã Informativa (formerly " 10/12 "), RTP Informação (as seen on RTP Madeira, now simulcasting RTP Informação from midnight to 5pm): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyUnnArtdIg
Jornal das 19 , RTP Informação (as seen on RTP Internacional, which broadcast this edition instead of RTP1's Telejornal because of a football game aired that day at 8pm): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h_vieyeGD8

Finland's largest media corporation Sanoma has been going through lots of changes in the last few years (e.g. taking over television operations of SBS and ProSiebenSat.1 in Benelux countries) - and now the corporation is about to complete a fusion of the news gathering divisions of television channel Nelonen, the corporation's radio stations and the two largest newspapers in the country - Helsingin Sanomat (HS) and Ilta-Sanomat (IS). All staff of all divisions will move to the corporate headquarters this month.

Joint newscasts on TV will start from the 3rd of December and to celebrate 15 years of television news, the broadcast will get what they call a "total shake-up"; featuring a new studio in central Helsinki's Sanomatalo (Sanoma's HQ), new anchors, a new timeslot and extended bulletins with more headline updates through the day.

After eagerly eavesdropping on the builder staff around the headquarters, I've got a harsh picture about what's in front to Nelonen's news. The studio will be virtual and use technology previously introduced by "some English broadcaster" (most likely ITN). I also saw them ramming some Sony hardware into the building and I didn't need to use Google to find out what "PMWTD300" (!!!) means.

So that's the latest in Finnish broadcasting - remember that state broadcaster Yle's also gonna get a new look for their naca after the elections on the 28th and they're also launching a Russian language broadcast. To end this long(ish) update, just a quick reminder about the current look of Nelonen's news, starting at 3:37 on the clip:
