CBS This Morning, as anchored by Charlie Rose, Gayle King, and Norah O'Donnell, who was filling in for Erica Hill that day. It was announced about a week after I taped this that Norah will replace Erica permanently in the fall. Also note that the time bug and weather ticker are non-standard; my affiliate doesn't use the provided ticker and instead uses their own.

In addition to CBS This Morning's innovative style, I really like this set. It's retro, but in a fresh, modern way -- truly post-modern in a way few broadcasters would manage.

They even got the details right. Take a look at the book behind Gayle King:

It's a real book from the 1970s -- Air Time: The Inside Story of CBS News --, which I happen to own:

Meanwhile, here's ARD Mittagsmagazin's new set which launched in July.

The concept evolves around a curved 32:9 rear projection displaying all sort of visual content on an impressive 194 inch screen. The elegant and light architecture blends in seamlessly with the motion graphics. That way, set and motion design create a unique and convincing look setting the focus on news and information content.

Someone mentioned that ARD's Tagesschau is getting a new set this fall. I wonder if it's going to be similar to this one?

BTW, the set reminds me a bit of TV Slovenija's set, even though the latter isn't based on a single projection screen:

BTW, since we were talking about SWR, here's a useful map from Wikipedia showing the various regional broadcasters that make up ARD:

Many -- but not all -- of these broadcasters have opt-outs covering smaller regions or towns. For instance, here is WDR's opt-out for the city of Bonn:

And here are bits and pieces of Aktuelle Stunde , which covers WDR's entire service area:

BELGIUM: VRT's Het Journaal has a wonderful, clean on-air look which has been in use since 2008. 4 years after its debut it really has not aged, and I think the look has also been mentioned by other people on the forum - its a really great design right across the spectrum - music, graphics and the set, are all top notch

But after 4 years, VRT has just announced that it is working on new branding for Het Journaal which will debut in Spring 2013. The set has already been 'demolished'.
It will be really interesting to see if they can better the brand, because at the moment its just brilliant.

After seeing arch-rival Nine News amass an insurmountable number of weekly wins and thus claim first place for 2012 in the key Sydney and Melbourne markets, Seven News has attempted a relaunch tonight.

It features new L3 graphics blatantly copied from Nine News, which compliment their new "First on Seven" slogan that they have recently begun using despite (or perhaps because of) Nine already using "First on Nine" for several years prior.

The biggest changes have occurred in Melbourne, which has seen their decrepit 7 year old set replaced with a replica of Seven Sydney's set and their content selection and presentation overhauled under the oversight of a new director, the former editor of a local tabloid newspaper.

Firstly, Melbourne's final pre-bulletin update:

Up until recently these were relatively staid previews of the day's top stories, but as you can see it is now a rapid-fire succession of log lines. They've also drastically upped the number of these aired prior to the bulletin, with only a single commercial break going without one in the 90 minutes leading up to its airing according to a local viewer.

And here's the opener, closer and some other highlights from the main bulletin:

Also, here's a Nine News L3 for the sake of comparison:

At the International (general) Presentation thread, I've posted some SBT image promos over the years (in honor of their 31st anniversary last Sunday). Now, I'll bring you how their news bulletins looked over the years:

opening sequences for SBT's newscasts after the premiere of SBT Brasil (also the re-establishment of a full-fledged news operation for the network, weakened after CBS Telenotícias folded and SBT's investment in news massively decreased) may be available several pages back on this thread.

@Kevizz: Is Seven Local News in regional Queensland still using the old graphics? I read on MediaSpy that they didn't change along with the capital city stations.

@Joshua: Do you happen to have any caps of VRT's temporary set?

@Viakenny: Interesting! I never realized that CBS Telenoticias ran a Portuguese-language operation (in conjunction with SBT).
