I hope people reading that old thread have a great deal of respect for presenters who could self op-that desk in the 80s and 90s. A lot more complex than hitting a 'take next' on an automation system.

Not a network newscast, but WFTV - Orlando updated their graphics. Its actually quite nice. Like many stations across the US flat graphics are being used with more frequency. This opening uses a subtle colour palette. And angles with a nice use of the logo turning to a white outlined box to reveal the b-roll. The open uses the new fantastic WSB Atlanta commissioned theme. WFTV is a COX owned station could these mean that all the COX stations will get similar look? Well some have started to adopt the WSB Atlanta commissioned theme music (named Guardian). This is a good look.

For context here is the new WSB Atlanta open using Guardian that COX commissioned orignally for WSB(using the incomparable voice over talents of the legendary Scott Chapin)

I have recorded some VOA Persian this morning on 13E and 15W to see if I could see any of the jamming of the Radio Farda TV programme which was reported on the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty website.

No jamming detected but I have some screenshots of the VOA Persian and Radio Farda TV presentation.

And to complete our recent look at the relaunched Rundschau on Bavaria's BR, here's the late-night edition (Rundschau Nacht):

I really, really like that BR Rundschau package. Really slick design - and bonus points for the lack of virtual set, which is near ubiquitous in German TV news!

Although, Points of View would go into meltdown if at the start of the Ten O'clock News Huw Edwards was shown (like the presenter here), playing with his phone, only to casually glance up at the camera and welcome viewers to the start of the programme...

Well, someone has accused that the new Rundschau title theme is a copy of that from Hart van Nederland on SBS6.

Presumably he is using it in lieu of a tablet.

That news program looked very relaxed, with the presenter dressed in smart casual and checking his phone. Looks like something you would see on Newsround.
