Now, it works.

Today, RTL Nederland launched RTL Z as a separate 24/7 news channel, the first in The Netherlands. RTL Z will primarily cover business and financial news, but also politics, tech and innovation. During daytime, the channel will not differ from the programming before (news bulletins and stock exchange updates). RTLZ had a 08:30 - 18:00 block on the RTL7 channel.

The evening programming is as follows:
18:00 Z Today (news show)
20:30 Z Doc (documentary)
21:30 Van Liempt Live (talkshow)
22:30 daily magazine
23:00 Z Talks (TED talks and similar)

On the new website, rtlz.nl, the new bulletins can be seen.

Here's a YouTube clip of the launch:

Does RTL Z not have their own headline bed for the bulletins? Even before the new channel launch, they used RTL Nieuws' headline bed...

Der Abend, n-tv; Germany, 2006

At this time they've changed their virtual studio design at least twice a year, but it always looked very cheap.

Here's another example from a short time later.
They've changed the look of their studio background and the front of the desk and used a new music (which survived until today btw), while the intro animation kept the same.

I like how they pretend to sort their sheets of paper in the beginning. Wink

(I hope it is okay to post such rather poor examples of news presentation here.)

Of course it is! Sometimes bad news presentation is just as interesting as good news presentation.

I wonder, however, why n-tv looks so amateurish, considering that it's owned by two media giants -- Time Warner and the RTL Group.

The current look of ATV News in Hong Kong (in use since 2012; from the station that suffered so tragically that they are about to shut down next year, after their license revoked on Fool's Day this year... for real)...

... is actually created using this package:

Comparison from a YouTube user:

What a pity!

(Note that years ago, they ilegally copied Michael Wood's mock BBC News intro so days later they had to revert back to the then-previous look.)

The SNT Three

I preferred the old ones - in fact I preferred the original ones which were a lot more low-key and in keeping with the style of the show where news is the star - as opposed to the brash content and graphics of Today and GMA.

They've also changed the open and replaced the gallery view along one wall with white graphics - the set feels a lot brighter but again I still think I prefer the previous incarnation.

They're doing really well though, showing consistent, albeit slow growth and getting a lot of good interviews. I try and catch it when I can on t'internet. The coverage on CBSN, their new digital news platform is pretty decent too. I do love how they still use the #NewsIsBack slogan when they've been on air since January 2012...
