ABC's
World News Tonight
, when it was regularly co-anchored from London, 1980:
And here is the same style intro on TCN9 in Sydney, Australia (This is a newsbreak. The full newscast, which I can't find on YT, even included the date at the beginning):
Staying in France, here's a clip of the morning show from Canal+, 2010 -- I mentioned it in another thread as an example of how a dark, pre-daybreak background can be made effective with inventive lighting:

France really is a different world when it comes to TV presentation... And to be honest I don't know why they didn't totally cover up the windows. The bits that were there were lost in the darkness and just gave us annoying reflections of other people. Don't see the point in seeing them.
(But then the B&W half-face of the presenter in some of the LED columns was pretty distracting too... But very French)
I actually like the contrast between the darkness outside and the in-your-face, time-to-wake-up purple of the set. In a way, it reminds me of big-city neon signage.
The set was also quite 'open' with guests walking in from outside then sitting straight down for an interview. I love French TV style. It's very marmite. You either love it or hate it, but it has a clear, confident and ultra-modernist approach.

From user compubit on tvnewstalk.net, here's a brand-new (November 2014) compilation of newscast intros (and other elements) from Italy -- including the national networks and various regional/local stations from Tuscany:
