TV4 Nyheterna Sweden recently launched at Jago-designed BBC clone set. Really? Sorry, but Im not impressed at all. Reason being is its so similar to the BBC sets down to the colour and "fake evacuated" flickering newsroom backdrops, I find it shocking. Im sure BBC presentation lovers might drool over this. I do like that it feels bigger than the low-ceiling studios at NBH. This studio feels a bit more airy. But Yawn. Seen it. Too similar to BBC for me, especially for a national channels. Pass.

Just watched a TV4 short bulletin. Grammatically a bit of a mess. The projectors you see in the grab above are fed with a fake newsroom backing, then replaced with a logo (which is masked by the presenter so they have words growing out of their head), and then they use them with story images... Not great, and not done as well as Rapport (or BBC World News)

That said, nodding to the "BBC look" in your studio design isn't a stupid thing to do in Europe. The BBC is still, believe it or not, quite well respected in Europe, and BBC World News is widely carried on DTT as well as DSat and DCab.

(This is quite common as many Swedes spend long winter holidays abroad and want to watch online catch-up stuff)
