Here's an addition to our recent look back at the history of Antenne 2 / France 2's news...

RAI Due, Italy, 1980 -- a bomb explodes in Bologna:

And this is how the same event -- one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in European history -- was covered by Antenne 2 on its 8PM news:

Thank you for posting!

I find this highly modified map of Europe quite strange for the opening of a news broadcast.

Yes, it's certainly an "interesting" view of the continent!

Here's the same Brisbane, Australia, station as above, but from 1987 -- the 6PM news intro is preceded by a few news and current affairs promos:

SIC (Portugal), Jornal da Noite , 2008, when Rodrigo Guedes de Carvalho and Clara de Sousa presented together (probably the following year, the bulletin returned to a single-presenter format, with either Rodrigo or Clara presenting) and the headline sequence appeared after the title sequence (instead of before the clock):

Was Donna also available for colour-bar duties in that blouse?

The Germans really like their virtual sets don't they? (cf ZDF Heute)

Odd that the body language and dress sense is so casual and the set so - err - not.

newscasts broadcast on the FTA satellite feeds of the Brazilian broadcast networks instead of the local news, with a roundup of the stories featured on some of their local bulletins:

Rede Globo, Brasil TV :

Rede Record. Direto da Redação ("Directly from the Newsroom" - ironically, the satellite edition doesn't come from a newsroom):

The name "Direto da Redação" is also used by the local early morning bulletins on some Record stations:
MG Direto da Redação (Record Minas, O&O): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6R1wkMwdZg
CE Direto da Redação (TV Cidade, Fortaleza, affiliate): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHVumOa3f4Q
DF Direto da Redação (Record Brasília, O&O): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaH_TZeZcH4
Direto da Redação São Paulo (Record São Paulo, flagship O&O - video from late 2010, early morning bulletin now has a different name and format): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94GA_ncpIm0
Direto da Redação São Paulo close into São Paulo no Ar , their "main" morning local news, still running on the present day (Record São Paulo, video from early 2010): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aW6BR_e-VYk

and the extended theme, used both for the satellite primetime and local early morning bulletins:
