and yesterday, Bandeirantes (or "Band" for short), here in Brazil, has relaunched its late news bulletin, Jornal da Noite . the theme was remixeed and they have new graphics and a new virtual set (which, IMO, looks better than the previous one):

The set is very similar to ITV News, no?

Indeed, ITV News meets RTL Aktuell. Not an original design element in sight.

What's with the sudden jump cuts (is that the right term?) in the swooshing noises? Sounds and looks awkward, especially with the small chap sat at the huge white banana-shaped desk.

ATV10, Melbourne, Australia, 1981:

Featuring an interesting blooper. From the video's description:

Quote:
Excerpt of an opener to an edition of ATV Channel 10 Melbourne's "Eyewitness News" in early 1981.

The opener goes OK but when the News opens with Headlines read by Anchors David Johnston and Jana Wendt the Video switches to TEN 10 "Eyewitness News" in Sydney anchored by Katrina Lee and Ron Wilson before switching back to Melbourne.

RTP África, the Portuguese PSB's channel for Portuguese-speaking Africa, has recently relaunched its dedicated bulletin, Repórter África , now sharing its on-air look with the bulletins on RTP1 and RTP Informação. In fact, its opening sequence is basically the same as the one on RTP1's Telejornal (a live simulcast follows Repórter África ). the biggest differences are the addition of the names of African cities and the sequence ending with a shot of Africa. oh, and the titles air after, not before, the clock.

and how they used to look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9kMHymmkP8
