News intros from Africa tend to be relatively rare in this thread, so here's a miniature compilation from that continent:

From Hong Kong: PCCW's HKTVE launched a free-to-air English-language general entertainment TV channel called ViuTVsix on March 31, 2017.
ViuTVsix airs two news programs produced by Reuters: News Roundup (evening news bulletin) and Weekly Re-Viu (weekend new program).
News Roundup on February 27, 2017 (test video before official launch)

Weekly Re-Viu on March 27, 2017 (test video before official launch)

ViuTVsix Official Launch
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGAM1yU1CFE
ViuTVsix also airs news bulletins from other English-language news channels, including NHK Newsline, CNN Newsroom, CNN News Stream, Al Jazeera News Live, DW News, and ABC's 20/20.

About the last sentence, it's more like Australia's SBS Worldwatch and Japan's NHK BS1 World News. TVB Pearl only air NBC Nightly News.

Also it seems that ViuTV News on ViuTV6 is very different (in terms of theme music, opener and graphics) than Now News from Now News Channel which airs on ViuTV but without the Now News ticker graphics (ViuTV and Now TV are owned by the same company). The way ViuTV News start producing news before the launch of ViuTV6 is more like TRT World before launch.

ViuTVsix actually airs the aforementioned news bulletins. You can check its electronic program guide here: https://viu.tv/epg/96
ViuTV News simulcasts with Now News Channel since they are both Cantonese channels. Now News basically takes charge of ViuTV News.
ViuTVsix News has different intros and graphics from ViuTV News because Reuters produces the local news programs for the channel.

Well, I've been waiting to read the schedule for ViuTV96 but have been reading the ViuTV instead... Confused

Off topic, but reading the schedule, the overnight programming on ViuTV is Driving in Hong Kong while ViuTV6 just closedown instead. I wonder what ViuTV6 does during downtime?

Yesterday (Friday 31 March) a news operation closed up shop. XETV a Tijuana based television station that broadcast in English and targeted San Diego since its sign on in 1953 aired its last newscast. The station recently lost its afffiliation of The CW to competitor KFMB (where it will be a subchannel) and the management decided to go to a Spanish language format. Officially the CW affiliation doesn't end until May 31 but they decided to close up the news division early.

The station overcame some big obstacles. Because they were not an American station the FCC prevented them from receiving and transmitting network programming live. So up until the 1990s the network programming was received in the US, recorded on tape and courriered to master control in Mexico. In the 1990s they got a waiver from the FCC to broadcast live programming (mainly because of their Fox affiliation and the networks NFL contract). All of their business operations and studios were based in the US while master control and the transmitter are based in Mexico.

Additionally competiting stations bought ad inventory on XETV in the final week:

A few months ago, the regional* news bulletins of the VGTRK (Russian State Broadcaster) adopted the look which was already in place for all the other news operations of the VGTRK.

Depending on the technical abilities of the regional studios, the look was adapted in slightly different ways, but otherwise it looks neat.

A full edition of Vesti-Riazan (notice the very old background behind the newsreader)

A full edition of Vesti-Sochi (they undoubtedly have more money than in Riazan)

I remembered there is (or used to be) a Russian regional newscast in a language whick looked like Azerbaijani. I think the name was "xəbərlər" but I cannot find any of those bulletins, strangely.

*except in Moscow where they already had their intro coherent with the new look for a long time, although in their own particular style.
