i am not annoyed at the idents. I would be more accepting of them had I not been on wikipedia earlier and seen them state that the balloon idents were coming back.
I hope that isn't one as there is an ITV ident pretty much identical to that image.
This image heads the Sunday Times article.
Swimmers at Clevedon, Somerset, are the stars of the first of the new BBC images and will be appearing on screens today. The pictures have the theme of ‘oneness’
It doesn't suggest this, or the one posted above, are shots from the BBC One ident, although they were taken by the same photographer in 2009.
Here's the ITV ident, for comparison, filmed at Loch Lomond:

even though I do not like these idents after seeing the first showing, I felt that, as of 2012,the globe was dated and BBC one needed a new symbol such as a numeral 1 being formed by blocks besides British landmarks similar to the great Channel 4 idents of yesteryear with a throwback to the balloon.
For me the circles were good as they were a throwback to the balloon but I still was not the biggest fan of them.

Ugh, vandals at large again are they? What page was it?

The circle idents Wiki page. Vandals claimed that there would be a second run of the Balloon idents - instead it's sadly not true.

I was going to hold judgement for a short while, but I can't imagine I'll feel much different. I mean, what can one say? Dire springs to mind. Did the BBC actually part with money for this? ...and if they wanted to borrow a tripod, they only needed to ask.
Dean Lydiate says, during his anno.
"...I hope you like our exciting new look of Oneness for the New Year..."
Dean, come onto this thread and see if anyone thinks of it as exciting. Painful more like.
