The Chinese slogan for TVB news, when translated, reads "TVB News, We Care About Everything". However, the station is criticized over its reporting on the citywide commemorations of the Tiananmen Square massacre.

TVB News reported the commemorations, held annually, towards the end of its broadcast, and that has spawned criticism of self-censorship to appease the Chinese Communist regime.

The word play on the slogan is created to directly criticize TVB, which, when translated, reads "TVB News, Anything Goes".

And very nice the new MSNBC graphics are.
Easy to read nutural colours, text in shaped boxes, rather than ones that don't align, and smaller fonts that are easy to read and don't take up all of the lower third screaming at you with block capital letters.

And I see they have done a 'ticker 2.0' rather than joined in the rest with the a CNN style flipper. I much prefer that style of ticker, where the text starts on screen before scrolling off, rather than the right to left scroll that Sky/BBC News prefer to use.

Something good to come out of 30 Rock for a change.

at least the didn't change the size of the Chinese text, unlike some Taiwanese TV news channels who had ridiculous sizes for lower-thirds...

This Afternoon: a new show on the Nine Network here. Sort of like a GMTV in the afternoon, designed to lead into their new shortened version of Millionaire (which in turn leads into the news at 6pm). Quite a chatty format with news at the start and halfway through; it goes for an hour.
