This has probably been going on for a few weeks now, but the national France 3 newscasts have been using the France 2 studio.

Yes, they started as soon as the lockdown started. Presumably they're utilising the gallery team for France 2's 13/20H bulletin which is on straight after this bulletin which saves on two different crews.

Already noted is that France 2's TéléMatin is coming from the Franceinfo studio utilising their breakfast show format with VT's from the columnists and the 4V political interview normally on F2.

I was watching tonight's Paris Île-de-France edition of 19/20 and France 3 Paris Île-de-France is also doing their editions of 12/13 and 19/20 from the France 2 & TéléMatin studio; since their main studio is also in the same studio as the main France 3 news studio.

I didn't realise that normally F3 Paris IDF shares the national studio. Doesn't explain why it took IDF a while to go HD for the news bulletins when the national bulletin went out in HD on the same channel using the same gallery and cameras.

That suggests it was a distribution issue then - the same reason BBC London and BBC North West come from HD studios but are only normally available in SD.

Not strictly news-related, but just noticed that a South Korean TV drama series from last year stole a 'return from a break' bumper of Vesti Nedeli for the title sequence of its show-within-a-show segment, while borrowing CNN's lower thirds.

For comparison, here's how Vesti Nedeli looks like these days. You can also watch recent editions in full, as uploaded by VGTRK.

(Cue another cases of ripping off VGTRK news titles...)

[Edit: added the clip from the first episode of that South Korean series.]

CNN's WorldView from 1995, co-anchored from London and simulcast on CNN and CNN International:

I'm in the U.S. and I remember them teasing this new show during the O.J. Simpson trial during the summer. They were really innovative promos for CNN at that time. I was glad this show was created because the International Hour was replaced with Talkback Live the year before I believe which removed the only daily live international broadcast we received weekdays on domestic. When it premiered I thought it was going to be a CNNI-produced program with their graphics etc but it was not. It had to be a truly momentous occasion back then to get a CNNI simulcast on domestic; I think in mid-late 90's they did simulcast some World News bulletins overnight. I remember sometimes domestic would take the CNNI graphics and bug and other times they would try to cover the bug up with their yellow one unsuccessfully. I don't know what CNNI did back then or how often they simulcasted domestic but our anchor would always welcome viewers around the world on CNN International which, again, would always make me sit up because it was relatively rare.
