International News Presentation: Past and Present

Prima, Czech Republic, 2017:

ERT (Hellenic Radio Television) launched a new look for the news on 20/2/2017.

The globe graphics makes it look a little familiar!

With added wayward cameras, to make it even more authentic

So many European broadcasters are doing the red and white globes and beeping themes, its no longer special and unique to the BBC. Time for an overhaul or significant update for "Grandma" Beeb. Shes starting to show her age. Be nice if a broadcaster did something without a globe in their graphics. Needs some fresh ideas over there. Aahhh the days of the flag era.....that was unique.

Returning to the topic of the TVI rebrand, here's what's probably the regular intro for Jornal das 8 , from just moments ago,, with the headline sequence and a regular opening sequence (was the AR logo from yesterday a one-off?), though that didn't go so smoothly.

SRC, Le Telejournal British Columbia, 2015



This is one of the more odd SRC services, given that unlike other provinces, French is only the fifth most spoken language in British Columbia, behind Cantonese, Punjabi, and even German! Still an impressive offering!

By the way, that same backdrop was used by Southern Cross in rural Victoria (then a Ten affiliate) before its news operations were shut down in 1994 -- it's seen clearly at the 5:42 mark:
