By the way, we would've reached 300th page by now if some Caribbean folk didn't flood this thread with short posts for about one page.

CNN, the world's first news channel, is 35 today. This is what its first hour looked like:

You might not like CNN or disagree with them. But they will always be the first and originators of the beast that is 24 hour news. Good Ole' Ted had no idea what he created.

Not exactly branding, but definitely interesting - something we'd not see on the BBC, anyway!

French actor Jamel Debbouze was on TF1's Le 20H with Claire Chazal and they used some amazing trickery to make it look like an animated character from his upcoming film was in the studio - would really love to see how it was all done.

Two obvious ways.

One - it wasn't live but was pre-recorded. The cameras incorporating the animation were locked off, so it could have been added (reasonably) quickly in an edit.

Two - it was shot very carefully with locked off cameras and a garbage and reflection mattes were rendered. I doubt it was this, but if it is the reflection mattes are very well rendered.

My gut feeling is that it was pre-recorded. The reflections would be tricky to do live, but locking off the cameras avoids any need for motion tracking. The only moving camera was at the end - and that could have been a zoom in post (it wasnt't a track or a crab).

They've done something similar a couple of times on The One Show in the past, though they did it live. When Adam Sandler was on promoting an animated film they keyed-in his animated character onto the coffee table, and a close-up in front of a camera I think.
