Yeah but I there was a lot of stuff that was talked about before the relaunch such as replacing all the paper with iPads, TOTH Voiceovers and new strands on the BBC News Channel

Yes they are, they do most of their down the line interviews at milbank and file reports but if something important or newsworthy happens they can come to NBH

Im glad they dont have an anouncer that would get rid of bbc news' uniquness

Even though it was in fact the BBC who were the first to my knowledge to use and announcer at the start of every bulletin. Also Channel Four and Five don't use announcers either.

Did the Nine O'Clock News use the simple "This is the Nine O'Clock News" right from the start in 1970? If so, then it probably was the BBC who introduced news voiceovers in the UK. I know that ITN started using them when First Report launched in 1972. Before that I think they simply used theme music (Non Stop and The Awakening).

It was a Sunday though, wasn't it. Millbank is effectively shut on a Sunday.

I'm not a hundred per-cent sure - but I don't think it's fully staffed on a Sunday at the very least. BBC pol corrs are usually knocking about NBH (and TVC before that) in the morning. Pienaar and the Westminster Hour are both in the evening - perhaps some staff come in a little later..?
