Does anyone else here play 'Spot BBC World' on the screens above Studio E during the TOTH pan?

I do , also if you look closely you can see the sports presenter in salford on the screens behind. Confused

I'm glad it's not just me that looks out for these - I'm sure I read that the screens behind show incoming sources, so if you look at the start of the 1/6/10 you can see the reporters getting ready.

It would seem that N6 is still being kept warm for a little longer - I would have thought it would have been shut down a few weeks ago now.

Bit of an expensive way to provide a back drop for news updates on the Andrew Marr show isn't it? Wink

Maybe they could just bring N6 back... whenever Studio C has some major breakdowns.

It's not exactly across the road though. It'd take at least 30 minutes to get a crew over there and get things running. It'd need to be a fairly catastrophic breakdown before someone made that call.

While in 11.30 Sports bulletin on BBC News, they go back to NBH set with presenter drinking water and hiding the glass with his papers... no explanation about cutting sports bulletin...

I even thought TV Centre is closed already. If so, isn't N6 included?

Presenters at studios C & E really have to be careful cause they could end up on air anytime.

It's not being kept warm any more as far as I know, it's simply the case that nobody turned off the lights, literally. Razz

Define 'closed'. The building is closed for making programmes and closed to most BBC staff but that doesn't mean it's been totally abandoned and no-one will ever go in again.

There is still stuff going on there, as discussed over in the other forum many of the video lines and satellite feeds into and out of the BBC are still going into the control room at TV Centre. I'd imagine there's quite a lot of equipment which needs taking out and chucking/storing/moving/selling too, until they get round to the old news centre there's no harm in keeping N6 in a state where it could be used if absolutely necessary
