Isn't "ITV at Breakfast" the front runner now? Sounds alright to me, even if its similar to 'BBC News' Breakfast.

Hasn't Daybreak been confirmed? thats according to our guys in the know on the forum

Shocked Can't see how they could possibly go with 'Daybreak' after seeing that.

That film is out this November.

The plot line is as follows : 'A hotshot television producer is set the challenge of reviving a struggling morning show program, despite the constant feuding of its high-profile anchors.'

They'll be hoping that fiction doesn't become a reality.

I think you're overreacting slightly. ITV is trying to revive a struggling morning show - so it already is a reality. As always, the revitalised fictional Daybreak will turn out to be a huge success, she'll marry her co-producer and everyone will live happily ever after. It's a happy, uplifting romcom, not a disaster movie.

In any case, there's really no reason for ITV to change a title which is expected to endure for 10+ years just because of a here today, gone tomorrow film that will be superseded by some other fluffy formulaic romcom and completely forgotten about by Christmas.

Something in the press about LK's new role :

Lorraine Kelly to be British Oprah Winfrey

Sounds plausible but then it is The Express

I do like the name 'ITV Today' though

Interesting Promo Idea - could be a great way to introduce the audience to the new ITV Breakfast show

We've know fo ages that it will be a seperate show, have a studio audience etc, - press hype i think!

Plus as you say it's the express - my favourite line is "Sources say Kelly, who earns £350,000 a year, was told by cost-cutting ITV bosses she could no longer pre-record episodes" - surely if they were cost cutting they would pre-record them on 1/2 days like they do now as not pre recording them would be more expensive - i.e hiring the studio formore days.

Depends which studio Lorraine uses. I assume it will be the new GMTV studio which means it can use the same staff as GMTV but not keep staff all day. Where recording shows for two or three days means staff has to stay for a really long day plus it means they have the chance to edit & change the pre recording keeping them even longer.

Recording only saves money if they use a studio just for that show. But as always, has limited LIVE interviews.

I thought Lorraine was going to go in the Loose Women studio?

I don't know which studio Lorraine will use.

I only assume a studio that will be in use for something else during the morning, to use same staff

Yeah I'm sure the insiders on the thread said it would be the loose women studio. and they do some live and some pre recorded - so if it was cheaper to air them live - they'd be doing it now! So that must show it's not cost cutting to have her live every day - the opposite really.
