Hasn't studio 7 been used recently for Loose Women and other shows? (Earlier posts suggested Al Jazeera Sports were in there at the moment?) I'd presumed this was using the existing gallery - rather than remoting into another TLS production area? Presumably if they're upgrading to HD they'll be replacing most of the gallery vision gear (apart possibly from some of the monitor stack)

AIUI LNN rented studio 7 from TLS, rather than operating it entirely themselves, so presumably the gallery kit was left intact for use by other clients? The SD kit currently listed on the TLS website is below (some kit quite elderly, other stuff a bit more recent) http://www.londonstudios.co.uk/studios/studio-details/studio-7/

Yes it been used by all sorts of programmes since LNN went. ITV Sport had it for a while, most recently for Al Jazeera Sport's programmes (including Gary Lineker presenting Champions League!).

However my memory of the old LNN facilities is that the gallery, edits, graphics and news exchange (a lines area) were all intermingled together in an area two floors down near the newsroom. http://www.tvstudiohistory.co.uk/studio%20history.htm#tls says that the whole area has been taken over by 'ITV Creative' so I wonder if they moved the gallery to a more convenient location

yeah Cross Channel posted yesterday that there be a few subtle different shots and menu bars.

The GMTV newsroom will stay in the same place it is only the studios moving. Yes the show will involve broadcasts from the South Bank especially as it's a key part of the studio backdrop. Keep an eye out on Monday morning for some subtle 'tweaks' to news presentation and menu sequences.

What sort of technical facilities were left behind when LNN left Studio 7. According to the TV Studio History website; the edit suites and 'News Exchange' made way for offices as did the newsroom (all of which were 2 floors down from the actual studio). Is the original gallery still there?

Its all being ripped out to accommodate new facilities.

Yep as mentioned the plasma over the presenters shoulder is moving and we'll be shooting the news on a MCU. The menu and into break look is being simplified too.

'Just' a focus group? These people cause absolute carnage.

I knew that that would be your opinion on focus groups.

According to this, the BBC have withdrawn their offer to Christine Bleakley........

In a statement, the BBC said: "We have been in discussions with Christine Bleakley about her new contract ever since she told us in April that she wanted to be a part of the relaunched show following Adrian Chiles' departure.

"With that in mind we made a full and final offer to her several weeks ago and made it clear we would not be entering into a bidding war with other channels.

"Christine is still unable to make a decision and therefore we have regretfully withdrawn our offer as we have to put the interests of The One Show audience first and the current uncertainty does not allow us to do that."

On the BBC site now http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment_and_arts/10361533.stm

Silly girl, not so torn now is she?
Off she goes into obscurity on ITV breakfast....

EDIT: Although it now looks like she made a decision rather than the BBC giving up on her, not so silly, but I really don't think it's a great move for her

Seemed like a risky strategy and don't think her new agent advised her well with that statement.

Presumably, ITV could substantially reduce what they are offering now.

I really hope it backfires for her! Very Happy

Theres always Sky News Sunrise if ITV don't offer enough, but I don't think Mr Holmes would like her to be hosting with him judging by his recent comments!

Give the GMTV job to Helen WaspAero!

It would seem that Christine's mind is now made up. It would be just right if ITV do offer her less now.

Has this decision really been made because of her wondering whether to go to ITV, or because of the recent press 'outrage' at her being offered such a high wage?
