I'd like it if it were completely different.

Can we return to a new interview area(s) - so we have the sofa or desk as a home base for the anchors

That is actually Saudi TV 1's news set. I dont think it would work well for GMTV either...

Lovely shots going into and out of the regional news at 7:30 this morning. They've got a great news set but don't use it to it's full abilty. When/If they get a new set, they should definitely go down the Australia's 7 Sunrise route. Are there any ground level windowed studios in London?

The only one that springs to mind is the old Nickleodeon studio. The Leicester Square studio once used by TMi and MTV was a storey or two above ground level, and the TLS studios with views are much higher up. The One Show studio is also one storey up.

Ground level studios aren't actually always that good an idea - as you don't get as great a feeling of "place" as you do a storey or so above ground, where you get a better view in most situations, and also people are less able to press their noses up against the windows!

Don't know about a Nickelodeon studio =/. The ground level conservatory studio used in '08 did look a bit weird, looked too far to the ground. I think Skyline would be the best place. Turn the triangular area into a 'soft area' and then the window next to it for a news desk like Sunrise Australia. A bit of a pity really, considering the current set is only what, 17 months old? They should have had more time to set the lighting up and everything. Part of me thinks that all the regular lighting changes have worn the studio out and made it look old quickly. The old set would've looked bettwe with a paint job and a new background.
