Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but according to the BBC schedule site, BBC One is showing a full match replay of Russia vs Saudi Arabia (ITV) overnight on Thursday.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/schedules/p00fzl6n/2018/06/14

This seems to be promotion over previous match replays from the 2014 WC, which were overnight on BBC Two.

However overnight on Friday, BBC One is showing a match replay of Portugal v Spain, which is the game they showed earlier in the evening. I am expecting that to actually be Morocco v Iran which is the ITV game.

If these overnight replays are all ITV games, my guess is that is how they will be shown in 4K for people who want them, and they'll be available to view on iPlayer afterwards.

I don't know if it'll be the same as 2014, but then the overnight full replays were the best game of the day irrespective of whether it was live on ITV or BBC. Sometimes there was already a stand-out match scheduled for the day, like Portgual v Spain would be, and on other occassions they made the decision on what game to show after seeing how things went that day. Fairly sure there were a few times Sport didn't confirm what the match would be until around midnight (they were played down from Salford I think).

My guess is that they won't - I think the 4K will be strictly live games only.

That would be my expectation too.

Richard Henwood is presenting the highlights for ITV. Can't say I've ever heard of him and Google isn't providing many answers either.

As for schedule changes worth noting in the first full week ITV manage 4 hours of news in the 6-7pm slot from Monday to Friday whilst the BBC have just 2 hrs 35 min, with just 15 minutes on Monday and 20 minutes on Friday. The BBC News at Ten only starts at 10pm one night (including being pushed backed to make way for an hour-long EastEnders at 9.25pm after the England game), though they do have 4 of the 5 weeknight primetime games that week.

Think he may be ex-Anglia. Rings lots of bells from the mid-to-late 90s.

TV Newsroom via Google suggests ex-Sky Sports more recently too.

I would expect the UHD stuff to be coming back via fibre. Wouldn't be surprised if there were SNG feeds knocking around - but BBC One/Two feeds may well be fibre. I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC and/or ITV used satellite as a backup and I wouldn't be surprised if they were BISS/BISS-E encoded...

I take it the late night highlight show studios will either be based at the Moscow Red Square studios, or Salford (BBC) and BT Sport/Timeline Television (ITV)?

I'd expect them all to come from Russia - as that is where the presentation talent is based - or at least be bookended by links from Russia?

Not a fan - fancy but tricky to read don't on a black and red colour scheme which looks a decade out of date.

Hope BBC SPORT use there own graphics and slaved to the official data stream.
