Did you see it? Something was there making it's way from the audience section to the stage section of the set. Whatever it was disappeared as it glided towards Les Dennis. I wonder why this wasn't picked up in 1987.

Probably because:

1) It's on the border of the overscan area so may not have been seen on domestic sets in 1987. Many things happen in the overscan area that seem strange because it's only been relatively recently that we can see a "full" picture as seen in TV studios.
2) It becomes pretty obvious that that wide shot is looped for the duration of the credit sequence. The fact somebody happened to get up and wander around is unfortunate.
3) And it would almost certainly have been picked up in 1987, but bearing in mind point number 1, it ain't worth worrying over.

Have Challenge edited the first series of Les Dennis?

On this mornings eps, a viewer had wrote in but it wasn't read out and then just cut to the intros of the families....

IIRC when series 1 was last shown on Challenge it didn't have a frontcap then. To be honest I'd be surprised if the show has a frontcap on it, as being intended for Children's ITV, there was no need for one. A previous post on TV Forum says they were dropped in 1986 for Children's ITV programming.

Not only did it not have a front cap, not unexpectedly, the Anglia/Broadsword end cap was replaced with an ITV Studios Global Entertainment one. Vandalism!

Shame there was no Anglia Knight after the programme. Still, an excellent show though!

Broadsword wasn't formed until after Knightmare series 1, so the original endcap on series one would have been Anglia.

Contrast with Fun House, the programme before it, and there's an STV logo, animation AND music.

Interesting to note that the basic premise of Fun House was there AND sound pretty much from the off. Just natural evolution of the format over the years.

The games were pretty dull though compared to later series.

I loved how the audience had an incredibly thick collective Scottish accent when counting down from 10 to 0! Laughing

It was filmed in studio one of cowcardens in Glasgow during summer holidays, before switch move to wheel of fortune.

The Fun House theme seems so different on David Pringle's website, from what was actually used!

Even Wheel of Fortune sounds in a different key from what was broadcast back in the day...

Anyone know how Fun House and Knightmare rated on Friday night??

Interesting that The Daily Mirror TV listings magazine lists Fun House as being presented by JD Roth.

JD Roth presented the American version of Fun House. How did that description get on to Challenge [TV]'s database? I wonder if it means they are planning to show the US version. It would fit in with them showing [Total] Wipeout [USA] and [American] Ninja Warrior.
