ITV News: Rotas & Presenters

Lucy Meacock should have been used over Andrea or even Tony Morris or Pam Royle . Andrea is ok for regional news but doesn't suit the national news .

You've invalidated your own opinion there with the suggestion of Tony Morris. Can't believe he is still at Granada - of the three regions I can get he is easily the worst regional newsreader across the BBC and ITV.

Whilst I'm a big supporter of Lucy Meacock and was very pleased to see her on ITV News, I think Andrea Benfield is a very competant presenter. It's a pity they can't use both - I much prefer them to the likes of Nina Hossain and Romilly Weeks.

I have to agree with Brekkie re: Tony Morris. He's tolerable on Granada Reports but is definitely not national news material. I think ITV quickly realised that - iirc, he only got one shot at ITN about 4 years ago and has never been back.

If in need of a sudden stand-in, why doesn't Alastair Stewart just put his daughter in front of the cameras for News at Ten, should Julie have the flu' or something?

It seems to be acceptable in some countries.

TBH That sort of thing happens Gabby Logan , Kelly Cates both got jobs because one of there family is known as did Rebeca Lowe if they have earned it through there own hard work then good on them.

Jon Gilbert back on itv news at 5:30 today he seemed different and less clear with his words

Daisy Mcandrew also hosting the weekend news and the lead story was her area yet she didant show any experties .

Matt Teale doing the lunch news as well as LT .

Is he between regions at the moment? He was doing Central about a week ago.

He's also popped up on Sky News a few times, so he's getting around as a freelancer.

Im not sure if this is the right thread, however, will Beck Mantin be getting a permanent cover for her maternity leave. Possibilities include:
Jo Blythe (covered in 2006/7/,
Phillipa Thompson (appeared on GMTV),
Manali Lukha (appeared around 2 weeks ago) or
Alex Beresford (occasional relief)
