From the start, they had all the common 630 and Ten male/female combinations pre-edited for Alastair, Geraint, James, Julie, Katie, Mark, Mary, Nina and Steve, i.e. the regulars. If they ever need any special combinations, such as Alastair and Geraint or Mary and Julie, then these are usually edited as and when needed.
What other voiceovers have been recorded? I know you've said previously that one's been done for Lucy Meacock, and Daisy McAndrew's was heard over the weekend - are there any other regional presenters that have them ready and waiting should they be required? The likes of Christine Talbot, Bob Warman, Fred Dinenage (how ace would that be if he popped up!), and possibly people like John Stapleton?
I know it was said in the past that, back in the 5.40 days, they had them for Jon Snow and a few others that were never used. Just curious as to how much of an extent they have gone to in terms of forward planning.
To my knowledge, none of those presenters have any voiceovers at the moment. I believe they have generic ITV News v/o's for most common relief presenters, including some from London Tonight, like Ben Scotchbrook, Lucy Cotter, Salma Siraj, etc. There are also some reporter ones ready, like Bill Neely and Sue Saville. However, I don't think they're that forward thinking to include lots of regional names. They'd probably just record those as and when they're needed, like they did for Andrea Benfield. My guess is that they recorded Lucy Meacock's back in November because she was still a fairly regular relief presenter back then.
Incidentally, new voiceovers for Alexandra Hill and Sascha Williams have been recorded so should be debuting any time now.

Ah, interesting indeed - I assumed that recordings of the newscasters' names (e.g., "With Geraint Vincent") would merely be added to "This is the ITV News at Ten" as and when necessary (a last-minute rota change, for example), and that such voiceovers you mention as having been already prepared would not exist. I guess that's not the case then?

Interestingly, they've had a batch of News at Ten voiceovers (with the various combinations) for both Geraint Vincent and Steve Scott ready and waiting since the revamp so seeing them on the programme is a possibility!

I don't think one day is enough to prove anything. Normal rotas can obviously be altered due to assignments, holiday, illness etc
Well Nina is on today so you're wrong!
