It's the summer, James Mates is probably on holiday.

We haven't seen the likes of Steve Scott or Natasha Kaplinsky behind the desk for some time, so I'm guessing if James Mates is unavailable on Sunday nights al will be used more, now Charlene is going on maternity leave pretty soon and Ranvir Singh hasn't done a weekend bulletin for a while

Cue more Kylie Pentelow and Lucrezia Millarini.

Natasha Kaplinsky hasn't been on since the evening news went single headed and indeed wasn't very frequent even before that, so I think it's fair to say she is no longer involved in ITV News in any capacity.

I'm pretty sure she did a weekend bulletin not that long ago in fact...

Never understood why the Lunchtime News is so dumbed down. Even back in the hour long days when I rememer Katie Derham taking phone calls with a child sitting on her lap. Should be left to shows like This Morning and the VD show.

It's in the middle of the ITV daytime schedule which targets housewives and young women.

It was a causal piece, which ITV News at 1.30 specialises in. Well worth the airtime. The exuberant child having done wonders for it too. Incidentally one of Stewart's sons was so taken that he's offered to show the children his horses.

Because she was being interviewed at the time. The chaos that would have caused would imo have been far far worse than what actually occurred.
