They certainly dealt with it quite well, with the only thing a picky BBC One viewer may have noticed being that the headline bed was already playing when they cut from the ident to the studio, although there was another thunderclap before the top story was read out.
The news channel bed from the filler bleeds into BBC One quite often anyway. They need to ensure this doesn't happen and sound has been muted before BBC One opts in.
Am I imagining it or have they done something with Studio A? The quality seems much better.
EDIT: I think rather than doing something positive, they're actually having problems. The background keeps shaking and people are walking very slowly and jittery. And on iPlayer restart you can see they didn't do a proper TOTH - locked off shot and the longer version of the titles.

It's funny, I think it looks worse - the lighting seems to be a bit off. Earlier on, the presenter seemed to have a green tint and there are a few shadows that aren't normally there. And at the TOTH they skipped the studio wide shot which is not normal, though they've used the wider shots again since.

I've just taken a look on iPlayer and certainly at the beginning of the hour the green tint is very apparent and it looks quite poor. Newsroom wasn't moving at the start of the hour and we had the long titles, so perhaps technical problems? Any improvement in quality may just be because the green tinge is gone, so it looks less obviously fake?
I think it must have been technical problems as chris also suggested. Things certainly seem back to normal, they've been using some of the swooping shots and the presenter is stood at the pretend video wall - the studio looks as it normally does again.
Another failed 2pm TOTH (about the fourth time in the last few weeks). Today's error included a fixed camera shot and graphics that didn't match the script.
Few issues with the start of newsday, went straight to a black screen with no sound after the countdown and just graphics shown. Seems to be okay now just no ticker.

Yes, spotted that too. Is there some problems with the studio E gallery at moment? I've noticed the BBC News box has a delay appearing on screen during the titles and the camera changeovers from the titles > newsroom > studio have been out of sync with the music recently.
