Here is a gallery of the various test cards I've seen on the BBC in the past month or so, for those interested. I'll continue to add to it as I see more test cards.

So have just been watching the News Channel and at 22:16, they've had the ticker promoting a program for Deadline Day which is being shown at 18:30...

The person in charge of the ticker tonight obviously is awake.

I see from this test signal that UKI-888, one of the BBC's more elderly newsgathering sat trucks, has had an HD upgrade. (The UKI-number is the designation of the dish as registered with the satellite operator - network news have 777, 888 and 999, plus one or two other less memorable ones)

UKI1091 is one of the main network trucks for bigger OBs, even has its own twitter feed https://twitter.com/uki1091

Does anyone know what BBC's "QL Live" is?

Thanks for that, peterrocket. Another one I just spotted – "BBC News vPoint 101":

I assume it's something similar to QL.

Both last night and tonight I've noticed a very thin white line along the bottom of the screen on BBC News HD on freeview.

It is where the aston wipes up from the bottom, like as if it hasn't completely gone off screen, but it's only visible when there is no ticker. It appears during the countdown too, but isn't noticeable once the logo and ticker appears

Prerty much. I think thats for videophones... But not sure but another ip connection.

For a while the holding cards had the IP address of the machine, then they realised it wasn't a good idea...

A slightly different question now. But does anybody know why presenters names do not appear in an Ashton at the TOTH?

Presenters names have not appeared since they began to introduce themselves since the move in March 2013.

Not quite right, they still appear on the News at Five.
