GMTV has announced two new presenters who will join the existing presenting team in the New Year - Emma Crosby and Kirsty McCabe.

Emma Crosby, 31, will join Kate Garraway, Andrew Castle and Ben Shephard to co-host the weekday show.

From January 5th Kate will co-present with Ben Shephard (7am-8.35am) and Emma will partner Andrew from 7am-8.35am. Presenting duties will be split equally between all four presenters.

"I am delighted that Emma is joining us to share anchor duties with Kate, Andrew and Ben, giving us, without doubt, the strongest presenting team in Britain," said Peter McHugh, Director of Programmes.

Kate Garraway said: "It's great news that Emma is joining GMTV. We now have the greatest gang of four in TV and I am sure viewers will love our new look." '

Emma said: "I'm incredibly excited to be joining GMTV and I can't wait to work alongside Kate, Andrew and Ben. I've had a fantastic time at Sky News and look forward to working for Britain's best breakfast show."

Emma joins GMTV from Sky News where she has been part of the channel's presenting team since 2003. She has most recently presented Sky's business news. She began her career as a producer at BBC News 24 and has worked as a reporter/presenter on The Money Channel, before moving to CNBC as a presenter working in London and New York.

Bright outlook

Kirsty McCabe joins GMTV as weather presenter. Kirsty will work alongside fellow meteorologist Clare Nasir and will broadcast on alternate weeks.

She is currently part of the BBC weather team, having joined the channel in September 2003. She studied geophysics at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with a first class honours degree before spending three months as an intern at NASA`s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.

"We wanted to freshen up the programme for the New Year," continued GMTV's Peter McHugh. "And the addition of Emma and Kirsty to our already established presenting team is part of that plan. We'll be sprucing up the set too, so our viewers will have a lot to look forward to."

John Stapleton, Penny Smith and Lorraine Kelly will continue in their current roles at GMTV.
