GMTV (1993 - 2010)

Aye it was mentioned some pages back on this thread, it's a shame really as it no longer leaves ITV with any Sunday politics programmes, another nail in the coffin for PSB on ITV. Considering the fact there's been a programme in that slot for the last 25 years (If you include TV-am's offerings) it's a shame to see it binned off, but I guess considering it is shown at 6.00am on Sundays you're hardly going to get a wide audience for it.

Looks more like that the GMTV name will probably on appear on Weekdays now as it seems to be that 'CITV on ITV1' or whatever they call it is probably going to dominate the weekend, especially now it's getting the 5.00-6.00am slot.

Did anyone see this morning the news backdrop was different. The GMTV logo was smaller and there was the moving graphic of the water behind Penny.

Looks like Fee has disappeared for the summer now...did she mention anything on her last programme?

I did noticed it but wasn;t sure if it was different or not.

Look like they're having a few issues with the transitions between the headlines this morning, old titles were played at the TOTH too.

Looks like the water animation was removed this morning.

It was announced today that Andrea McLean is quitting GMTV after 11 years.

Did she really ever graduate from the Weather ? I seem to recall her doing a couple of stints on the sofa, but it never came to anything.

She's signed a new 1 year contract to host Loose Women.

One day last week I noticed instead of the GMTV Today breakbumper after the adverts a studio pan took place instead with the music, with the smaller logo in the bottom right hand corner (used during headlines/coming up sequences). Looked good, but when I watched today it wasn't used.

Good to see Fiona and Andrew haven't been on in a while (a week or two pherhaps?) instead its the lovely Ben and Kate.

Good decision IMO but I don't think she'll go that far in TV. She seems nice enough and I like her, she was good on the sofa and any non-weather reports she has done have also been good but I don't think producers are going to be fighting over her. But Loose Women probably isn't going anywhere for the time being so its likely Andrea will stay. She'll probably get a few daytime shows in the next couple of years but I don't think nothing more. Best of luck to her though. Clare is a great weather presenter (and producer; she produces the weather sections too) and it seems they have been phasing Andrea out for some time now because Clare seems to pop up more frequently when it used to be the other way around. I wonder who Andrea's replacement will be?



Fiona is probably off on yet another holiday, she couldn't possibly work for 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year could she? Kate looks very well, its good to see they've sacked the hairdresser and her 'new' hair makes her look a lot better than she has done in the past year or so.
