well its true, carry on the way they are and ITV will be a gonner!

How melodramatic. I doubt the fate of ITV lies in the aspect ratio in which its News broadcasts. Besides, I've already told you - it's going widescreen in December (if not then, when ITV News changes early next year).

I wasn't on about the aspect of the news ratio, its going to take a monumental effort to turn ITV around!

Erm, yes you were.

And trust me, you'd never get 15m these days for a TV show.

I think you'll find 'monumental' effort has been going into ITV behind the scenes for a year now. We've seen the back of ITV Play for a start, and of course the new teams have been planning ITV1's revamp which we will see next year.

Rome wasn't built in a day, come back in November 2008 if ITV is still in a rut.

Surely the only "monumental effort" required is that needed to commission new shows?

Precisely, and they have done just that.

Lost in Austen, Echo Beach, Moving Wallpaper, Rock Rivals, Harley Street to name but a few, plus the return of Trial and Retribution (a 16 part series of eight two-parters) and Primeval.

well they do need to do something, since ITV has been going downhill since 1992!

Are you ignoring me? I just told you some of the commissions for 2008 - are you not even waiting to see what Grade's new schedules are?

Have you not noticed the marked improvement this year. The ratings fall has been the lowest by percentage of any of the five terrestrials this year

It's no use Andrew, I don't think harshey is living in this century. I feel he may not deem any move to be "monumental" unless it involves the reintroduction of the regional branding, which we all know is a ridiculous idea in this day and age.

Sorry I just didn't see your reply whilst I wrote mine, well lets see what happens, me for one would be very happy if they could sort ITV1 out, BTW does anyone watch Peter and Jordan Unleashed, yuck!

I know its a ridiculus idea, but I still wish it was, ITV1 is just not the same as say Yorkshire Television, but that's an arguement for another day, truth is you getter better ITV programmes on itv.com then you do on ITV1!
