I thought Wish You Were Here had been axed? The normal programme was dropped yonks ago and they did a show called WYWH Today, which was a little more magazine-y. Same with CITV considering they're not putting it on the afternoons in the run up to Christmas really shows that ITV aren't interested in the afternoon slot for kids programmes commerically once and for all now.

But I supppose repeating Primeval in the afternoons is something a little bit different, it could catch on, say especially if it's scheduled for 4.00pm when more younger people are watching.

I will not be be happy with ITV until there have Gameshow back on at peak times

and WWTBMM or you a dirty lie person but we nick the format form another channel, will not cut it!

They didn't make a mistake, commercially. Drama repeats bring in the viewers (and advertisers). I'm sure the only reason they are brining back CITV it to make up the hours.

Well you'd imagine commercially speaking that CITV in the afternoon should be quite lucrative in the run up to Christmas than at other times of the year.

Im surprised they arent showing CITV in weekday afternoon in the lead up to Christmas. Im sure last year they increased the amount of CITV shown from around November, before dropping it totally from weekdays in January.

It does seem odd that ITV would not want to exploit the commercial advantages CITV might bring them in the run-up to Christmas. Bearing in mind that it was in the 12 weeks to December that the ban on ad breaks in half-hour shows was relaxed in 1999.

Probably because showing children's programmes brings down the overall averages. It's these averages which determine how much adverts are sold for over the next year

On the other hand, how do we know they aren't going to bring CITV back to weekdays in the run up to Christmas, it's still 6 weeks away!

A: there don;t make this anymore!

B: that 20 years ago it was Not soaps that were filling up the time slots but
Gameshows!

ITV is to relaunch its flagship channel in January with a raft of new and returning programming, in what it has described as its strongest schedules for years.

Drama will be at the heart of ITV1's relaunched schedules from January with old favourites like Cold Blood, Midsomer Murders, Taggart, Trial & Retribution and Wire in the Blood returning. Recent hits Primeval and Kingdom will also be back in January for extended series.

New drama series include unique Kudos pair Echo Beach and Moving Wallpaper which boasts an all-star cast, Honest and The Palace. All these shows join cherished ITV1 bankers Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Heartbeat and The Bill.

Some factual commissions of note for January include Sandbanks, Jeff Randall: Repossessions and a new series of Ladette To Lady.

Entertainment from January will come from returning shows You've Been Framed, Al Murray’s Happy Hour, Harry Hill's TV Burp, It'll be All Right on the Night and Who Wants to be a Millionaire? with new formats such as Duel. The ratings winning Dancing on Ice will also return.

ITV News on ITV1 is to receive an overhaul in 2008 too, one of the biggest changes being the return of News at Ten every weeknight. Presented by a team that includes Julie Etchingham, Sir Trevor McDonald and Mark Austin, it promises to be the mainstay of the channel's primetime schedule.


Also, some info on 2008 commissions. Looks like a lot of longer commissions.

Still no details on schedule changes, but I can't understand how Echo Beach and Moving Wallpaper will work with both shows being 1 hour long. I thought they were half an hour each. They are supposed to air together, but perhaps they will just run over two consecutive nights at 9pm.

The Bill needs to lose an episode and maybe even establish itself in a new home, it is shunted around too much and needs a secure slot where it will not be moved around I think.

Interesting to see two US shows in the list, wonder if they're going at 9pm or 10.30pm. Pushing Daisies could be a huge hit for ITV1, it's doing well Stateside.


Drama, what about sitcoms where are they!
