You have to look back to see that Men Behaving Badly was pretty rubbish on ITV, thus why they got rid of it and the BBC picked it up.
I personally loved Barbara, I thought it was tremendously written, well created, well performed and very funny indeed.
It was also a family sitcom. I think it just had two series, but it was made by Carlton, possibly a reason why when one ITV they didn't want to make any more.

Well not quite, why would the BBC pick up something rubbish?
Thames lost their franchise, the BBC decided to pick up the show - they actually rebroadcast the ITV episodes, I think the reason the show was better on the BBC was the later timeslot it was given.

This Rock Rivals thing sounds rubbish.
TV comedies/dramas about TV are notorious for basically not working - and ITV got two of them.
The Moving Wallpaper/Echo Beach thing is a nice idea, but I think it's inevitably doomed - especially Echo Beach which actually could probably work well for ITV2 as a stand alone teen soap, but doesn't have the chance when it has a companion show taking the piss out of it.
Rock Rivals is just pointless - surely viewers are tired enough of talent shows without wanting to watch a drama about a talent show. And ITV being ITV are throwing in a public vote into it too.
And why get someone to play a "Mr Nasty" when ITV have the original (well, second) Mr Nasty themselves?

I think it sounds really good. People are quick to accuse ITV of never doing anything different - this, to me, sounds very different and worth watching.

The viewing figures for talent shows, especially X Factor, would suggest otherwise.

I'm a bit confused.
How the feck are ITV1 going to fit all of this in? All of these dramas are scheduled for January:
New and returning series
Primeval (7 episodes of 60 minutes)
Echo Beach (12 episodes of 60 minutes)
Foyle’s War (3 episodes of 120 minutes)
Honest (6 episodes of 60 minutes)
Kingdom (TBC episode count, 60 minutes)
Midsomer Murders (TBC episode count and length)
Moving Wallpaper (12 episodes of 60 minutes)
Taggart (TBC episode count, 60 minutes)
Trial and Retribution (2 episodes a week for 8 weeks)
Heartbeat (rest of current series?)
Wild at Heart (8 episodes of 60 minutes)
The Palace (8 episodes of 60 minutes)
Others
Cold Blood (1 episode of unknown length)
Wire in the Blood (1 episode of 90/120 minutes)
It's impossible...
