Calm down, you can't even see the desk area in the more complete image. I'll reserve judgement until it's on air. I'm pretty sure they're going to keep the "windows", as they've sort of become iconic in New York.
It's one of the best live backdrops I've ever seen, and the fact that the camera is on the building WNBC is broadcasting from makes it even more believable:
