New studio (and similar, but larger set) for NBC Nightly News. No caps I'm afraid but there are some press shots in this article (as well as this one). Quality viewing on Nightly News so far, forced to take a commercial break due to the fire alarm going off.

Just came back from the break with it still blaring and safety announcements...

The TODAY show celebrated 60 years of broadcasting in this morning's show. It was all very well done and you can see a lot of it online at www.today.com . Its amazing to see such a line up of past anchors and there still be such a family feeling between them all.

It was really good that the likes of Katie Couric and Barbara Walters were allowed to appear.

Here's something interesting: Today will have a new John Williams composed open on monday. It's probably going to be an incremental change, but still...this is exciting.

Really?! Where did you hear this? That should be good, John Williams is brilliantly talented, as you can see on many of NBC News' current audio packages.

"In his office last week, the composer took a break from the sheets of paper splayed across his desk, the theme music to NBC's "Meet the Press." It's a Williams composition that he's been hired to freshen, along with the "Today" opener, which NBC says will debut Jan. 16."

No new (or regular) open this morning because they had a Golden Globes Special. Interesting that Natalie Morales, Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker seem to have anchored the whole thing from a special set in Los Angeles.

It's not quite what was mentioned above, but they had a special opening theme on Friday for their 60th anniversary show (which is well worth a watch in its own right!) - which sounds a bit John Williams-y...

TODAY launches new graphics
New graphics. From what I've seen so far, I preferred the last package. Sorry, no caps. But I'm sure YouTube/ TVNewser will have something later.

Edit: Good Morning America also apparently have new graphics and a new theme, according to this forum. One member has also posted these caps.

They look very similar to the last graphics used, albeit taken further to the right, for a reason that I'm not sure of, as I've only seen this cap above.
