I was just checking because I noticed Tom Ingall reporting on Look North tonight and wasn't aware if he'd do both in one day, I thought that maybe Danny or Charlotte may have taken over the end of the week
Both Harry and Christa away today notice, it was Cathy and Ian
Not yet, although we expect Monday with them having been in the soft set all week. So question now is, just how much of a relaunch will it be, it seems there will definately be a new studio, but will it include graphics and music change ? And what of the existing soft set ? Will it get a new look, or is Calendar about to become one of those regional news shows entirely based at the desk ?
Also, when will we get the first glimpse of the changes, during the GMTV bulletins ?

When the new look begins they will probably present it all from the desk set for a week or two when they build a new soft set, preferably matching the desk set, and hopefully with walking between the two capabilities
I'm still not sure it is next week though, I'm sure Gaynor said when they revealed Duncan that he was starting on the 27th May

Well if its a full change then I expect so. I don't think they should change the overall look though, just tweak it a bit, I also hope they don't do away with the link to the sub-regions news graphic
Well in the olden days didn't YTV and other ITV regions used to closedown by telling people to tune to Radio Aire, Pennine Radio, Radio Hallam etc, presumably the rules didn't exist then
An equivalent today could be Christine saying at the end of Calendar "there's news from around the region every hour throughout the evening over on Real Radio" just like what they say on Look North
Well, i've been off line for several days now, but I just feel I have to give 'David H' a history lesson. For those of you who this bores, please move on to the next post.
If you're going to be pedantic, the three ridings of Yorkshire STILL exist. As i informed you previously, they have been created by Royal statutue about 1000 years ago and can never be removed. This is similar to Wessex, Essex, Sussex etc. Prehaps a little history reading will do you some good.
In 1974, The County Boroughs of Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and various parish and RDC's were combined into the administrative county of South Yorkshire. Note the word administrative. A similar thing happened to Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Todmorden, Wakefield etc. into West Yorkshire. Hull and most of the North bank of the Humber were combined with south bank of Lincolnshire into the administrative county of Humberside. In addition Cleveland was created from parts of North Yorkshire and County Durham. This was different, as this was a proper County.
in 1986, South, West Yorkshire in addition to all the previous metropolitan counties, were abolished by the Conservative Government. Each Council area ( I will use Sheffield - I live here) gained unitary control. Using your logic, they are seperate counties. The Post Office still uses South Yorkshire - but it doesn't exist. Try looking on a modern map. Another example is Middlesex. According to the map, it doesn't exist (most is now in Greater London and other parts in Herfordshire, Surrey and the like). The Post Office still uses it.
in 1996, the administrative counties of Humberside, Cleveland and parts of North Yorkshire were abolished. These were reformed and Hull is a unitary authority, Middlesborough and the Northern Towns also gained this, the South bank of the Humber became North Lincolnshire and the rest of "Humberside" became the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Oh, and as you're such an expert on all things, York is now a unitary authority, effectively a seperate County to North Yorkshire. You try getting North Yorkshire Council services in the City.
Reading between the lines, I'd say you're probably a student or whatlike who has only a small grasp of local matters. To say that something exists or doesn't by the nature of Police or Fire Service names is ridiculous (e.g. Sunderland used to be in County Durham, then Tyne & Wear now it's a unitary authority, yet it's Police force is Northumbria).
I suggest that if you really want to learn about God's own County, read some decent texts and actually talk to people about the history of the place. But of course you counld watch Tyne Tees for it's excellent coverage of NorthYorkshire events. Prehaps they taught you about local matters.

Oh, and don't forget to ask York City Council to put in an Emley Moor relay transmitter to clear up the pockets of poor Emley/Belmont reception!! A 5K Emley Moor York City relay dedicated to the city of York, bringing them and their universities perfect reception of Harry and Christa.... you'd like that wouldn't you?
