Cathy Killick's been presenting today and yesterday on Look North Leeds, wonder where Christa's got to? Anyone know?

Well, here's a complete stab in the dark. Maybe she's having a day off. Nothing more sinister than that, why do people have to obsess if somebody is off screen for a few days. Strewth, this is where it becomes more than an interest and starts to border on the obsessional.

Naughty Christa, I hope she has the forsight to check with you in future prior to taking her leave. Laughing

What I meant was, is Christa on leave or has she gone on some kind of reporting assignment somewhere, like she went to Australia to report on Caroline Stuttle's murder in Bundaberg.....

I've not listened to Real News at Five for a while on Real Radio Yorkshire, but have they always gone 'live' to the Calendar news centre just before the end to find out 'what's on tonight's Calendar'?

Sounds a bit odd to me - not that I'm biased Smile

From the Emley programme tonight, a poem for Paul Hudson by the ladies at the Ben Rhydding golf club that had me reaching for the sick bucket:

"On Wednesday's eve we listen to you,
Your forecasts must be good and true.
Paul, don't be wrong, make sure it's right,
so we sleep well right through the night!"

Excuse me, I'm just gonna go........ http://mysmilies.creativesell.net/cwm/cwm/puke.gif

Ahh, all better!

Yeah done it since day one. No different to Radio Leeds trailing Look North really. Real Radio and YTV seem to have a good relationship, Richard Whitely was on the test transmisions and Debbie Lindley works for both

Oh I didn't know they did that but I suppose its a good idea and bit like what it would be like if all ITV regions came with a radio station just like the BBC regions do

Calendar's still in the soft set, so it looks definate that there is a new look due. Kind of a pitty as I was looking forward to the "with Duncan Wood" caption fading up during the current Calendar News titles!

Yes, but it just seems slightly odd to me to invite people to leave your service and go and watch a tv show instead at Six... they might just as well invite listeners in Brighouse to turn over and listen to me at Six. Not that people won't from June 9th... Smile

I don't often see Calendar (being in Durham doesn't help at the minute) but I presume there's no subtle return promotion? (big logos on the wall of the new studio anyone!?!), playing in the background of Emmerdale...

The ITC code prevents what it calls "undue prominence" which means YTV would have to be v careful if it gave a plug to Real Radio (I think the limit is one verbal or visual mention in an editorial context). They would more than likely get a ticking off if they mentioned it too often. The idea behind the undue prominence guideline is to ensure that if Real want a plug on YTV they have to pay for it (ie; advertise).

Well for the first time last night I saw the hand over to the three opts. Good! I like the way they do it!! Very Happy

Well in the olden days didn't YTV and other ITV regions used to closedown by telling people to tune to Radio Aire, Pennine Radio, Radio Hallam etc, presumably the rules didn't exist then

An equivalent today could be Christine saying at the end of Calendar "there's news from around the region every hour throughout the evening over on Real Radio" just like what they say on Look North
