Sections of the GMTV website are still being updated, such as the Entertainment News section, with quite a few stories being posted today (although with no stories posted on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week). Ironically, there's a story from Monday about the launch of Daybreak. Also, it looks like none of the stories posted on the GMTV website this week are on the Daybreak website.

Obviously they had to leave the website open until the competition ends, but I was assuming that as of 6th September, the website wouldn't be updated (especially given that's there's now pop-ups and banners on the website telling you that they've moved).

I think the entertainment and such pages update automatically with news from PA.

The videos of the GMTV titles posted back in January 2009 with the aborted music are now public again:

Don't know how long.

Found this too: http://vimeo.com/2343196

Seems to be an out of break ident.

edit: Don't know if this is already known, but details on videos say that these were made by Red Bee:

Direction: Mario Cavalli
VFX & AE: Murray John
Agency: Red Bee Media / Ian Wormleighton / Amy Johnson
Production: Colony @ Bermuda Shorts

Radio Times have the slightly odd title "Children's", when CITV would do (and there's no reason to really not list it under that title now GMTV is gone).

Of course the obvious thing to do would be to list each programme individually, now that the Toonattik branding is only themed continuity rather than an actual programme, but RT don't do that anymore...

That's annoying, when CITV and CBBC programmes don't get individual listing. Why the heck are they keeping the Toonattik brand anyway? They should've ditched it when they sacked Jamie and Anna, the name is meaningless without the "attic" studio.

Talking of idents, a bit of looking around on Rob Rae's site alerted me to this one of the first edits of the opening ident. Would've looked so much better if they would have stuck with the blue sky and the moving bus instead of it being stationary in the final edit. Then again, it's pretty apparent why they ditched the "hold" with the logo!

I think there is a sponsorship deal attached to it which they have to honour! Could be wrong though.

A glimmer of living TV history shining from the dustbin.

Oh well, goodbye Gumtuv Crying or Very sad

Well never mind, I hardly ever watched any of it, bar perhaps a weather forecast on a morning (and that was rare).

I meant to set my HDD/DVD recorder to record the last ever edition of GMTV, and thus I could have "cut out" and archived to DVD the pres involved, e.g. opening sequence, news, astons, closing sequence etc. Sadly I forgot, as I had so much else on my mind August bank holiday weekend, i.e. planning a long weekend away in south Devon for the last weekend of this month, and my birthday outing (last day of this month), among other things.

The replacement is called Daybreak. I'm surprised ITV have been allowed to call it that, considering that when TV-am started, their initial programme 6am to 7am (presented by Robert Kee) was called Daybreak, and then the 7am to 9:25 am was called Good Morning Britain.

TV-am's copyright on the Daybreak name will have long since lapsed.

That said, I have an inkling one of the bidders for the National Breakfast franchise in 1991 was Daybreak TV.
