Why not put out the 1966 documentary? Although they may not want to jinx things!

You could let them all go home early so they are in good time for the football.

Which is what Aldi, Lidl and Iceland are doing on Sunday if England get through by closing at 3pm. (Iceland at 2pm).

The Daily Mail is saying that should England make the final (no matter what the result of the final is) a Celebration Parade will happen next Tuesday in London. I imagine BBC One will show it live and so possibly might ITV as well. But due to the fact the FA think one for finishing third or forth rewards failure one will not happen if England lose tomorrow.

A parade if we lose a World Cup Final. We should save things like that for actual wins otherwise it devalues their purpose. I tend to think it would be far worse and disappointing if the nation was to lose the World Cup Final than if we lost a semi final, even though technically the result would be better.

Normally, I would agree with you. However, I think in the eyes of most people whatever happens now, it's been a successful campaign. We've got a new, young squad with a level headed manager who was on the frontline 22 years ago. We've not had the likes of Rooney and Beckham and all the hype in terms of celebrity figures, or a WAGs circus plastered all over the press, although until recently that's been helped by not really having an expectation of doing well let alone winning. We've got a skipper who's kept his head down, kept a fairly low profile and just got on with playing footy. And that's paid off handsomely. We finally have an England team we can believe in again. There is much to celebrate.

Gary Linekar (and Probably the other BBC pundits still in Moscow) are going to the match tonight. Does anyone know far far the stadium is to the studio for the Highlights? If it goes to Penalties there only be an hour for them to get back?
