Kay doing a DTL interview with Hancock who appears to be outside NBH - just goes to show that doing a programme from Westminster doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get the politicians in person...

It's so silly that they're still using the Westminster location as a USP. Even before the pandemic, she rarely had major party figures in her studio. Why would they? Her audience reach is very small.

Hancock clearly doesn’t want to come into the ‘lions den’! As said above it’s another point about location being that worth while as a selling point but also Kay still managed to get a decent clip where Hancock appeared to brush aside Tony Abbot’s so called homophobic and sexist views because “he’s good at trade”. So I don’t think Kay/the team will be too concerned that he wasn’t in the studio for the interview after all.

Even those who are in Westminster don't want to go to the lion's den 😄🙄

Is it in part as the minister put up for interview each morning generally does Sky News, BBC TV, BBC Radio, and ITV News, and maybe others in quick succession, and going into a specific studio will take more time?

A view from outside the set plus another area.

Imdeed I think Sky are less fussed whether or not Hancock was in the studio and more pleased that actually it by all accounts was a great interview by Kay that has generated a lot of attention for Sky News.

So the Early Rundown is also done from Millbank, but from a smaller studio?

Kay Burley got a beauty of a gotcha moment this morning with Matt Hancock, showing I think why Sky wanted her in the breakfast slot.

You see that a lot, its quite funny though how they go into NBH to do Breakfast when they aren't there, and then end up doing down the line interviews with Sky, when they are in London

I'm sure it comes from the glass box?

I heard Hancock this morning, first on Times Radio then on LBC and finally on TalkRadio.

In that Twitter video you see where Joe Pike is sitting - is that ever used as a wider studio, or locked off for the blue shot we always see?

I think the person in the smaller Millbank studio was just doing a DTL contribution for the Early Rundown. The actual programme comes from the GB (Studio 21).
