With GMT starting an hour earlier, and 9am being done a NC presenter, do World News still have a dedicated late morning (UK time) presenter? If so, do they just do the 8am and 10am hours?

Yes - Geeta Guru Murthy now just has the 08:00 and 10:00 GMT bulletins.

They show an hour of news channel 11-12, which could quite simply be replaced by the hour of GMT. Cut it short on a Wednesday for Daily Politics to start at 11.30. Simples...

I have already proposed this as a NC simulcast so logically will be on BBC Two as it would still be simulcasting. Take a look at the NC thread.

In other news, Newsday this time opened with Singapore then London but opened after the titles with London. I think during breaking news then Newsday should start with Lomdon, like they did with Paris.

Last night BBC World completely ignored the UK Parliament vote on ISIS attacks because WN America was on and of course they only covered the developing US shooting story.

CNN International opted out of CNN US shooting coverage to bring a live coverage of the vote and some analyses.

Couldn't BBC WN also opt out of WN America and give us NC, Newsnight or whatever domestic BBC coverage of this existed? It was, after all, a big UK story they followed all day.

Fair enough - searching for Wibre has led me to find a company that does some nice underwater lighting though.

Unfortunately I misread this as 'underwear lighting'.

The purpose of BBC World however is not to provide UK news. The story was significant in the UK as it was our parliament voting however it was less significant to a world audience and perhaps the US shooting story was more significant to a World audience at that time. It is an editorial judgement and they aren't always easy or clean cut.

Not sure if it's been explained before but Is the use of Studio D during random hours, usually morning, on BBCWorld due to Studio B/C being occupied by NC for certain programs? I'm assuming this is just on a temporary/ad-hoc basis?

Also, just to confirm, the newsroom backdrop in Studio D is a video played onto the monitor I understand, what about Studio E, is this the live view of the newsroom through a glass panel or video-fed still?

On Wednesday the first half hour of World News America was exclusively breaking news which continued uninterrupted until about :48 the hour where they covered the vote as breaking news where they aired the reading of the results. They then played out a package from Lyse Doucet from Syria and analysis from The Washington Post's David Ignatius. At :55 past the hour the did a quick recap of the shooting for a minute and the show ended.

Studio E has a glass wall looking into the newsroom. Studios B, C and D have set servers which can put any images into the studio screens and led walls (or they can be fed from the vision mixer with video). Studio A is a wholly virtual reality green box. The only physical set in there is the desk and chairs.

Global presented today by Tim Willcox and Lyse Doucet (in London and Damascus respectively). Tim and David Eades have presented Global for what seems like ages now. Haven't seen Matthew Amroliwala for a very long time.

It was also nice to see Nik Gowing hosting on BBC World at the weekend.

Aside from the unnecessary music and forcing lazy me to read because there are no voice-overs, another unpleasant thing about those OS/social media clips they air though out the day on BBC World News in place of traditional packages is the text they use are not 4:3 friendly.

Those thoughtless OS/social media filler clips absolutely infuriate me. Never mind lazy viewers, what about those viewers with Visual Impairment?

I assume they can see the text as those spots are so damn big. It's annoying that they can't keep them 14:9 safe. In North America the channel is a 14:9 letter box in a 4:3 frame.
