What's happened on the evening Buisness Live? It seems to only be from London this week.

The BBC is currently moving office in NYC. Once settled, the new studio set-up will be on air. I don't know whether we will see an improvement over the previous DTL headshot with a flatscreen view of midtown Manhattan. Fingers crossed for a return to an actual studio with a desk.

Is this why the US editions of Talking Business have come from DC instead?

Katty Kay presented 100 days from New York on Thursday so there was still a DTL position available up until then.

Some interesting behind the scenes videos of BBC World:

BBC World Service News, October 1994

WBR (video says it is November 1999, but I think this is more likely to be 2000 given the N9 set design)

Indeed, as it refers to "last year's launch" of the Euro, which was on 1st January 1999.

I think alternative dtl positions are being hired as required in NYC until the new facilities are fully up and running.

Wow that's very interesting, always wanted to know what was on the other side of that N9 set, I am guessing it was never used once they moved away from the flags era, I just remember everything from Sport Today(known back then as World Sport) to Asia Today presented from the main set

Not quite harshy. Here's a clip of Philip Hayton presenting Asia Today from the flags era set and this was definitely after the April 2000 rebrand:

It's the portrait plasma screen that gives it away - as seen on The World Today in 1999.

If that WBR video is from November 2000, I suspect the old flags era desk didn't last too much longer. Certainly by June 2001 the Sport Today desk had been installed opposite the main desk as it was used for BBC World's Vote 2001 coverage. I'm fairly sure that World Sport was replaced by Sport Today in early 2001 - this would probably have coincided with the new desk. That desk was the one with those toblerone-esque columns that could be twisted around to reveal a different design for each programme.

The next tweak was to the main desk in September 2001 for the re-launch of The World Today - this was when it was replaced with that "bumper cars" style desk for the benefit of the opening shot. Then the last tweak to be made came in about March 2002 when the BBC Four News desk was installed opposite the main desk, next to the Sport Today desk. The three desks were positioned such that the cameras could be moved around between them as required.

Did that Behind the Scenes at WBR go out on air? Seems strange that it has as BBC World DOG.

Hello guys, can't believe its been probably 1-2 years since I was last active here. I honestly haven't been keeping tabs on world news of BBC or any others due to work and other priorities.

I wonder how much has BBC World changed since 2015? Cool
I really wish I could see Naga Munchetty on The World Today slot once again, just for retro's sack.
But I guess she has comfortably settled herself in on the breakfast couch now?

Naga is currently on loan to BBC Newsnight until May, to cover maternity leave as Business Editor and occasional main presenter.
