A good argument for UK-wide PPBs, considering it's a UK-wide election and we're still one country, as unfashionable as that is to a significant minority. Of course, regional parties complicate it a bit but even so.

Most of the parties would not go for that, I doubt many of the national branch office would be happy whitewashing their local leaders out of the frame.

I want Liverpool-specific PPBs then. Sure, they'd have to go out on Granada & BBC North West but I'm sure the good folk in the wider Lancashire & Cheshire area wouldn't mind.

Does anybody actually watch them ? Wasn't that why back in the days of three channels, they were simulcast
at the same time, and the CAs always emphasised that the programme was on the other two channels as well, so 'don't try changing channel to escape'. They remain an excellent opportunity to go and make a cuppa

I've only ever watched them because I happened to have the TV on that particular channel at that particular time. Clearly they must be deemed to have an impact though, otherwise no one would bother.

Have Scotland & Wales always had a seemingly parallel & separate election campaigns or is this a fairly recent thing?

Its always been the case for the last 15 years at least.

15 years is recent though. What about the five decades or so before that?

Not good for the integrity of the country, in my humble opinion, but alas, this isn't a politics forum..

It makes sense really, as Scots won't be voting on issues concerning health, education, law and order, transport, housing, agriculture and farming, the environment, local government etc. as these are all already devolved. The England PEBs could feature these topics.

Up here, we should really be making our minds up based on matters of defence, economy/trade/industry, immigration, energy policy and welfare. However, I doubt many people really appreciate this.

As we all know, personality of the potential PM is also seen as important by some, and people of course have all sorts of reasons for voting one way or an other.

However unfortunately the audio doesn't match up with the action, presumably due to the editing for the ident to be looped

And that it looks to have been sped up for no apparent reason too. It was the best of the bunch to loop but surely it wouldn't have been too hard to match the audio - the original was something like a minute long.

I'm not so much beating a dead horse as tying an anchor to it and burying it at sea at this point, but just *look* how much nicer Avenir is set in a lighter weight. And centred.

You could literally just take ^that very simple design and with a few extremely minor alterations create a new trailer endboard style a zillion-kajillion times more palatable than the 2009 one.

Just. Saying.

You make a very good point. All the more reason to resolve the West Lothian Question ASAP so that UK general elections affect us all in an equal capacity.

Looks somewhat like a BBC One template with Avenir.
